10. Sinister Six

Of the various assorted Marvel supervillain teams, the Sinister Six are likely the most well known, largely because of how many big storylines they've had as Spider-Man's nemeses.

The original Sinister Six was initially comprised of Electro, Mysterio, Kraven the Hunter, Sandman and the Vulture, all led by Doctor Octopus to try and join forces and take Peter Parker down. Though the team has seen many alterations in its line up, it's always comprised of some of Marvel's villainous heavy-hitters - such as Tombstone and the Lizard - and as such would be difficult to not consider a major threat.

Although they are mostly only a threat to the world's favourite web-slinger, the Sinister Six have destroyed Spidey a fair few times over the years, which is no easy feat in the world of comics.
