What's the worst thing you could throw a Spider-Man? Dogs? Bees? Dogs with bees in their mouths and when they bark, they shoot bees at you? Or maybe a swarm of mutant bees that absorbed the consciousness of an ex-Nazi scientist they had devoured and now hold his shape beneath a purple cape and rob banks? Ladies and gentlemen, a standing ovation for the goofiest villain in Spider-Man history, with the most convoluted origin and power set imaginable: Swarm. Literally a man made of mutant Nazi bees. Or a Nazi made of mutant bees? Same difference. They make about as much sense as each other, which is to say none. Fritz von Meyer was a Nazi scientist who moved to Argentina to become a beekeeper. It didn't work out. The bees technically only devoured his flesh, so his skeleton remains, and that's what the bees always re-form around if he gets defeated. Technically he's invincible and immortal, which is badass, but also...he's a Nazi made of bees.
