Norrin Radd is just the bearer of bad news. Its who he is. Even when hes not heralding for Galactus, the very nature of his existence is one of sacrifice and being separated from the woman he loves. He is a perpetual equivalent of that guy sitting in a bar lamenting his past. Its an elephant in the cosmic room, just lurking there in the vacuum of any outing youd spend with him. Itd be like the song A Whole New World (or as others have observed, a 1990s Capri Sun commercial) with all the fun sucked out of it (no pun intended with the Capri Sun), probably in a minor chordat best, itd be Trouble by Cat Stevens. And being reminded of how much of a risk relationships are just isnt kosher on such a hallowed celebration as Valentines Day. Plus, since Radd has cool powers and no use for money, hed probably make his own cards, and what good would that do for the world economy?
