Judging people by their appearances is something pretty much everyone does, if they're being honest with themselves. The world is such a superficial and judgemental place that it's all too easy to disregard people based on their appearance - they might not be, in your eyes, attractive enough to be a potential partner, experienced enough to do a job or big enough to pose a threat. However, that kind of attitude can get you in to a lot of trouble. Take Hit-Girl, for example. She's a girl of around eleven years old. If you saw her wandering around on her own, you'd see her as a vulnerable kid in need of help - and you'd be badly mistaken. She'd beat the living hell out of you if you crossed her. Take Billy Batson as another example. He's a young boy - around the same age as Hit-Girl - but with the uttering of a single word he becomes an adult superhero with powers on a par with Superman. Comics, therefore, teach you not to pre-judge people - and certainly not to underestimate them.
