10 Messed Up DC Villains You Won't Believe Exist
10. Humpty Dumpty
When Humphrey Dumpler was a boy, his dog was run over, his house was demolished by mistake, and his parents were crushed by their own Christmas tree on Christmas Day. He was forced to move in with his grandmother, who regularly beat him.
Because of his disproportionally large body and his child-like manner, he was ridiculed by bullies and was often compared to the nursery rhyme character, Humpty Dumpty.
Believing his bad luck wouldn't end unless he took matters into his own hands, Dumpler decided to "fix" anything that irked him. Despite the fact he has good intentions, his "repairs" tend to make things worse. When he disassembled and reappeared a train engine, it crashed, killing the passengers. When he tried to fix an elevator, it collapsed, killing the people within.
When he grew tired of his grandmother chastising him, he tried to fix her by hacking her to pieces and putting her back together with bootlaces. It was this act that led Dumpler to be sent to Arkham Asylum, where he obsesses about how he can fix the other prisoners.
