9. Black Panther & Storm

Despite little previous interaction, Marvel announced that their two most prominent African superheroes, Black Panther & Storm, would be getting married. In order make the whole situation more realistic, it was retroactively revealed that T'Challa and Ororo Munroe had known each other as teenagers and had infact had a brief romance.

The Black Panther ongoing series and a limited Storm series explored the earlier meetings with T'Challa saving Storm's life and the loss of virginity between the two. The marriage itself was depicted in Black Panther #18 and has endured ever since, despite the tribulations from Civil War (which was happening at the same time as the marriage) and the current Avengers vs X-Men event (Black Panther is a member of Avengers, Storm is a member of X-Men).
