You only have to see a picture of Victor Zsasz to figure out that hes a sadistic psychopath. Making his first appearance in Batman: Shadow of the Bat #1 (1992), Victor Zsasz was created by Alan Grant and Norm Breyfogle as a highly agile serial killer who carves a tally-mark onto his body for each victim he kills. Once upon a time, Victor Zsasz was a well-to-do businessman, serving as the head of his own international company. After his parents died, Zsasz spiralled into a deep depression, and turned to gambling for solace. Upon loosing everything, Zsasz decided to commit suicide by jumping off of a bridge. Before doing so, he was assaulted by a homeless man with a knife. Zsasz managed to wrestle the knife from the homeless man and proceeded to brutally stab the man to death. This experience convinced Zsasz of the meaninglessness of life; therefore, he decided to dedicate his life to the liberating others from their pointless existence. Zsasz is essentially a nihilist who is unable to sympathise with anyone. He is heartless and cold. He is in every sense of the word sadistic.
