10. The Silver Surfer's Surfboard

Jack "King" Kirby created some of the greatest superheroes and villains in all of comic book history, and the Silver Surfer is one of the ones at the top of the list. Kirby had an amazing talent at creating realistic people who dealt with real problems.

For the Surfer, it was sacrifice, xenophobia, racism, and more, so the character resonated with a lot of fans. He's also one of the most powerful characters in the Marvel Universe, and though he only has a small portion of the Power Cosmic, he's able to fly into black holes and come out unharmed on the other side.

He's able to do this because of his incredible surfboard, which also gives him his name. There's a lot about the Surfer that makes sense, but when you think about it for more than a few seconds, it doesn't make any sense, whatsoever, that he needs a surfboard, of all things, to get around.

It's weird, but there's a good reason why Kirby put his silver superhero on a surfboard instead of a more traditional spacefaring vehicle that would make more sense. According to Kirby, he gave him the board "because I'm tired of drawing spaceships!"
