To be an effective king, you have to be confident in your abilities. Youre leading your people and have to be able to make the tough decisions to protect them. However, a king must also be able to realize when hes made mistakes or recognize areas where he can improve. Well, modesty certainly does not apply to Namor, king of Atlantis and the first superhero in the Marvel Universe (publication-wise, not chronologically). Namor isnt known for his warm personality. Neither a hero nor a villain, Namor does whatever is best for him or his kingdom, which isnt always the right course of action. Despite being royalty, hes always been one to loose his cool and overreact, which has often prompted his attacks on the surface world. He always assumes hes right, and if somethings going on that he doesnt agree with, then its wrong...no questions asked. Even if he eventually realizes that the decisions he made are wrong, like teaming up with Norman Osborn and Loki, you wont hear him admit it. His pride makes that impossible. When youre raised with a sense of entitlement, youre obviously going to think a lot of yourself. However, be warned when disagreeing with Namor. With super strength, physical resistance and flight on his side, you do not want to get him in a bad mood.
