10 Superheroes Who Have Committed Murder
2. Hal Jordan
The second Green Lantern, Hal Jordan, is the greatest Green Lantern in history. Ironically, he was one of the biggest DC villains during the 1990s.
When his home, Coast City, was obliterated, Jordan demanded to speak to the Guardians of the Universe - the creators of the Green Lantern Corps. He asked them to use their power to bring his home back.
When they refused, he snapped and murdered dozens of Lanterns and all but one of the Guardians. Jordan believed he could bring his home back if he absorbed all the Main Power Battery’s energy (the source of the Green Lanterns' energy). After an epic battle, he was killed by the superheroes of Earth.
11 years later, it was revealed that Jordan only went insane because he was possessed by Parallax, a cosmic parasite that embodies fear. Jordan was at his most vulnerable when he watched his hometown be destroyed so Parallax latched onto his mind and compelled him to wipe out the Green Lanterns and release him from his prison, The Main Power Battery. When Jordan entered the Battery, he absorbed Parallax’s power. When the Guardians learned of this (they came back to life at this point… somehow) they exonerated Jordan of all charges and brought him back to life.
Some fans would say that Jordan can't be classified as a murderer because he was brainwashed when he slaughtered the Lanterns and Guardians. But there is one DC superhero who has killed FAR MORE than Jordan. Not only did he kill more people than any other superhero, but he did so of his own free will. And that person is...
