10 Things DC Wants You To Forget About The Flash

The Scarlet Speedster has always been a relative second-stringer for DC Comics. Whilst the trinity of Batman, Superman and Wonder Woman have always been the tentpoles that hold up the entire publisher, smaller characters like Green Arrow, The Flash, Green Lantern and the like have bravely headed up the rear, unknown to the mainstream audience but not without their fans. Things are changing, though. The CW series Arrow has exposed a far greater audience to the adventures of Ollie The Archer, meaning a significant amount of attention is being shined onto his comic book incarnation too (and DC have responed by trying to appeal to the TV fans, getting writers of the series to bring the book more in line with the on-screen version). So, too, has The Flash benefited from a renewed interest, thanks to a new television series that spun directly out of Arrow. As such, DC have started to show more of an interest in the comic book character, as well as making plans to adapt him to other media - We Need To Talk about Kevin star Ezra Miller will play him in an upcoming, blockbuster movie. The Crimson Comet is a character whose history almost stretches as far back as DC€™s holy trinity, which means that he has almost as many skeletons in his closet as the Caped Crusader and Man Of Steel. Such as unlikely origins, crappy villains, and ten other things DC wants you to forget about The Flash.
