10 Things Marvel Wants You To Forget About Thor

8. Marvel Heroes Reborn

Thor was one of the handful of Marvel heroes who found themselves wiped from continuity as a result of the Onslaught crossover, wherein Professor X of the X-Men absorbed the bad parts of Magneto€™s personality, turned into a despotic psychic monster and decided the world would be much better off without the Avengers or Fantastic Four. It later transpired that Franklin Richards, pre-teen son of The Invisible Woman and Mr Fantastic, had actually used his god-like powers to spirit all of those heroes away to a pocket dimension where they could be redesigned by a load of poached €œtalent€ from Image Comics who decided Captain America needed more abs and less tiny wings on his mask. Thor wound up acting basically the same in the relaunched €œHeroes Reborn€ Avengers, albeit with a stupid costume, and a great indignity was wrought on his book: it was renamed Journey Into Mystery again, and his stories jostled for space in what became an anthology title that also included Black Widow and Master Of Kung Fu. Never again!
