Of all the downright humiliating defeats that Darkseid has faced over the years - counting the time he fell down roughly three stairs and died, or just the time Batman beat him with honestly surprising ease - Super Powers #3 has to contain his most embarrassing loss.

Having had his omega powers stolen, Darkseid is stranded on Earth, where he naturally is totally unaware of how the world works. This is arguably the reason he doesn't hightail it the minute a bunch of people surround him - because, ostensibly, he has no idea what they're preparing to do.

Because what they're preparing to do is to mug the Dark God, which they carry out without a hitch.

While it's not intended to make you feel bad for Darkseid, seeing his sad purple face after what must have been the worst day of his life does make you feel just a little for the guy, leaving you uncomfortably relieved when he finally returns to normal - albeit without the remaining traces of his dignity.
