6. Star-Lord Making Out With His Space Ship

Most fans are now familiar with the Guardians Of The Galaxy - a previously obscure band of cosmic Marvel characters who first appeared back in the seventies - thanks to the hit movie adaptation of the book. They€™re also well-versed in Star-Lord€™s lady-killing ways, the film essentially setting him up as a douchier, lustier Han Solo. Some readers of the comics have baulked at that characterisation (and the comics changing to accept that more well-known version of Peter Quill), but it€™s actually right on the money if you venture further back into Star-Lord€™s history. Back before he was a Guardian, the character starred in magazine-sized sci-fi stories aimed more at mature readers. For a brief period Marvel courted the audience buying the likes of Heavy Metal, which told sci-fi stories with more adult themes. Which is to say, they had boobs in them. One of the weirdest set of boobs to appear consistently belonged to Star-Lord€™s ship (named €œShip€) who would routinely transform into a shapely woman and make out with him.
