10 Worst Ever Avengers

10. Captain Universe

Captain Universe is a prime example of why too much power can be a bad thing.

When Jonathan Hickman took over writing The Avengers in 2013, he transformed the team into a global, and even intergalactic, team of some of the most powerful beings in the universe. Fighting alongside a roster packed full of classic members were several new characters, including a brand-new Captain Universe.

Captain Universe is the persona of the Uni-Power, an all-powerful force that grants its hosts incredible powers in times of great crisis. This Captain Universe was Tamara Devoux, a woman who had spent ten years in a coma after a car crash.

The problem with Captain Universe is that she existed pretty much purely to give ominous warnings about the upcoming Infinity and Secret Wars events. The times she actually bothered to help out with missions she would either get immediately taken out somehow, or she would show up at the last second and conveniently have the exact power needed to save the day.

After Infinity and the war against the alien Builders (which she spent most of unconscious), she left the Avengers and disappeared. No-one seemed particularly fussed.
