It seems then, that writer Damon Lindelof (now famous for HBO's Watchmen) and superstar artist Leinil Francis Yu did not receive Wolverine's list, as in the utterly bonkers Ultimate Wolverine Vs. Hulk miniseries, Logan was decapitated.

Such an act would generally rank a lot higher on a list determining the worst things that happened to a character, but the manner of head removal in this instance seems to have been a relatively painless one - due to the fact that said method isn't actually shown.

Instead, Wolverine simply awakens to find that his body is no longer attached to him, making this instance more embarrassingly painful than literally painful for the character.
