10 Worst Things Venom Has Ever Done

Despite his popularity, there are times where Venom was an absolute monster.

Even though every comic book character goes through major alterations, few of them have changed more than Venom. Starting off as nothing more than Spider-Man's new costume, it was eventually revealed to be a Klyntaran alien called The Symbiote. When the extra-terrestrial goo bonded with Peter Parker's rival, Eddie Brock, it transformed the disgraced journalist into one of Spider-Man's most legendary supervillains, Venom.

But after a bit of soul-searching, Venom started working with Spidey, turning into an anti-hero. Even though the lethal protector began as a thorn in the wallcrawler's side, Venom is (usually) seen as a force for good.

But that doesn't change the fact that this savage beast has committed a lot of horrific acts over the years. Although he's rescued civilians, fought alongside superheroes, and saved the world once or twice, Venom is still a murderer. Not only that, he's tormented innocent people, inspired others to kill, and eaten more criminals than he would care to admit.

The success of the Venom films proves Eddie Brock is one of the most popular anti-heroes in comic books but we can't deny all the evil he's done.

Blaming Spider-Man for making him lose his reputation as a journalist, Eddie Brock became obsessed with the wallcrawler. And when Eddie Brock turned into Venom, he vowed to use the symbiote's power to destroy the superhero's life.

Even though Spider-Man has a lot of dangerous foes, Venom gets special mention since he's among the few who knows the webhead's secret identity. Preying on Peter Parker's family and loved ones, Venom has successfully made his enemy's life a living hell. Although Venom usually does this to torment Peter, he sometimes goes too far.

Spider-Man: Renew Your Vows takes place in an alternate timeline where Peter has a child with Mary Jane Watson called Annie. When Peter came home one day to see Venom holding his wife and child prisoner, he launched a vicious assault against the symbiote.

Venom then informed Peter that he'll never stop coming for him and will suck Annie's brain out of her skull the first chance he gets. Even though Venom usually torments Peter's friends as an intimidation tactic, Spider-Man knew Eddie meant what he said, compelling him to kill his nemesis then and there.
