In a lot of comics, there are these figures that play the role of the father or mother in the absence of the real thing. Well, Matt's just stuck with Foggy. But Foggy has proven, time and time again, to be one of the most pivotal sidekicks in comic lore, without ever actually going out and even fighting crime. He's Matt's law partner and he's quick, sensible, off-the-fly, and provides for one of the best bromances in comics to this day. I'll also note that Jon Favreau's portrayal in the 2003 movie was fairly spot on, and easily one of the highlights of the film. I'm forever a Foggy fan, because while he could easily fit into Matt's enormous shadow, he takes the time to step out and keep Matt in check.
