Introduced in 1963, The Avengers have become arguably the world's most popular superhero team. Literally hundreds of characters have been part of the ever changing roster over the years, ranging from well-known favourites to Captain America, Iron Man, and Thor, to slightly more obscure and surprising additions like Lionheart and Wolverine. Their impact has also been felt outside of the world of comic books, with Marvel Studios President Kevin Feige structuring an entire Cinematic Universe around the formation of Earth's Mightiest Heroes.
