As previously mentioned, comics have a really bad track record when portraying African Americans. However, even when the scene isn€™t set in the west, but rather in somewhere like Africa, black people are still vilified. Notice that this cover portrays the white people as normal and strong; although they are €œjungle people€, they look far more civilized and regular compared to the black natives, who are portrayed as cartoonish monsters and savages. In fact, the black Africans have sharp teeth and malevolent grins, as if they were cannibals waiting to prey on the white man. Yeah, comics aren€™t racist at all.
