18. Ron Palillo, Lawrence Hilton-Jacobs And John Travolta
While it may be all too familiar now, the idea of adapting a television show into a comic book series seemed like a revolutionary plan back in the 1970s, and what better show to serve as the testing grounds than the beloved sitcom Welcome Back Kotter. Featuring three main characters from the show (Arnold Horshack, Boom Boom Washington, and Vinnie Barbarino respectively), the adaptation only ran for 10 issues, but is still remembered by many with nostalgic memories of the 70s.
17. Uri Geller
The idea of bending spoons with just one's thoughts or reading other peoples' minds wasn't a staple of pop culture till self-proclaimed psychic Uri Geller went public with his abilities. Being a big fan of the master illusionist, Stan "The Man" Lee decided after meeting him that he had to have Geller in the Marvel Universe. With writer Marv Wolfman behind the scenes, the result was Daredevil #133, where The Man Without Fear found himself in need of Geller's powers after an army of psychic beings led by the psionic Mind-Wave launched an attack on New York. The teaming up of the two heroes was more than enough to thwart the invasion.
