Yep. There really is a place in Turkey called Batman. Sounds like the ultimate place to live for any comic book fan boy right? Seems not. Unfortunately for those of you planning to take your cape and move abroad it appears that Hüseyin Kalkan, the mayor of the town situated in the Southeastern Anatolia Region of Turkey, has actually tried to claim the Batman movie franchise has caused several unsolved murders as well as a bunch of suicides amongst the female population since it was released in 2008. Kalkan also feels that Christopher Nolan's trilogy was actually trying to cash in on the town's name and used it without his permission. Unsurprisingly the claims never turned into a court case despite Kalkan's best attempts.
