It is finished: Convergence #8 is out. Yesterday, DC released the final issue of Convergence, leaving many of their fans excited, slack-jawed or bamboozled (that€™s a fun word€ bamboozled).

Scheduled to cover DC as the organization moved their head office from New York to California, the Internet dubbed this the €œband aid€ event. Further when DC€™s co-publishers, Dan Dido and Jim Lee, announced the details of Convergence many assumed that this series would be irrelevant in the grand scheme of things. Boy, were we wrong.

Pitched as a giant love letter to DC€™s 75 sum years of history, none of the previews for Convergence mentioned anything about the main New 52 timeline we have been following since the 2011 Flashpoint reboot. And when Dan Didio and Jim announced that a newcomer, Jeff King, would be writing the Convergence event, many assumed that the story was going to be irrelevant and poorly written.

Frankly, they weren€™t too far off the mark. Convergence suffered from a number of problems: slow pacing, an over-sized cast and inconsistent art. However, the largest complaint was that the series was pointless. Convergence #8 is far from pointless, as it will leave ripples through the DC Multiverse for years to come.

Here are six major spoilers from Convergence #8.
