Apparently, the writers behind this character didn't think Deadpool and Dr. Doom were overpowered enough on their own.

This Earth-11638 counterpart to "The Merc with the Mouth" had his cancer removed by Reed Richards: the super-intelligent leader of the Fantastic 4. The operation allowed the former psychotic assassin a genius-level intellect and mystic energy manipulation. In other words, Wilson was given all the tools and then some to amass global domination.

Although the character has only appeared on three separate occasions, the idea of combining these two into one character is unorthodox and insanely overpowered.

Because let's face it; having a limitless healing factor, energy control, infinite knowledge, technopathy, and master assassin skills should spell Doom and Death for anyone standing in one's way. God help the poor souls laughing at that dalmation puppy-looking mask.
