8 Cancelled Marvel Legacy Series That The Fans Will Miss
8. Royals
Somewhat of a crushing blow to the Inhumans, it seems that the botched job of their TV show isn’t the only disappointment 2017 had in store for the fans. Then again, it may be more of a personal blow to Marvel as a whole, as they’ve generally been trying to prop up the Inhumans as the new X-Men (as substitutes for Fox’s mutants) for a while and yet, here we are.
'The Royals' refer to the Inhumans' royal family, consisting of the mute king Black Bolt, his serious hair-game sporting wife Medusa, and the royal pup Lockjaw. They originate from the blue side of the moon, and given their latest development they might have wanted to stay there.
Ending in December with issue #12 after the ‘Fire From Heaven’ story arc, Al Ewing and Javier Rodríguez's Royals had to assimilate with the Inhumans series. There’s still plenty to celebrate though, right? Like that one-off coming up about Lockjaw, and who doesn’t love a super powered dog?
Anyway, the story ended on a high note though (you know, despite the odd death here and there), with the Royals securing the Primagen, an element that created the Terrigen mists. This is a good thing, and not an environmental disaster like it sounds like, as it helps birth new Inhumans, thus saving their race.
It does kill mutants though, so... maybe it’s not that great.
