8 Reasons You Need To Read Valkyrie
8. There's A Talking Horse From Yorkshire
Things are getting very weird, even by comic standards.
Clearly Al Ewing didn't think a talking, flying horse was strange enough and decided to put his own voice to one. 'Orse (or Mister 'Orse, if we're being formal), is introduced as a villain's mount, but becomes a key character when he moves into Jane Foster's apartment and becomes the mount of Valkyrie.
Not only is the voice written with a strong Yorkshire accent, Mister 'Orse is the embodiment of a hard working Yorkshire resident. He is very proud of his working class status and where he was raised, often quipping about how he isn't like the "posh ponies" from Asgard. While serving as comic relief, it's a delightful reflection on the people from the area that British audiences rarely get to enjoy.
