The clue's in the name, really.

Doctor Doom has mustered quite the reputation since his first appearance in the pages of 1962's Fantastic Four #5, one that's placed him as Marvel's most complex - and preeminent - supervillain.

Yes, while the Doom of today is a more nuanced being compared to the Doom of old, there's no getting away from the fact that - much like Black Widow - the Latverian dictator has a lot of red in his ledger. He's killed, conquered and tortured his way into Marvel's stories, and while the Fantastic Four have largely bore the brunt of Victor Von Doom's machinations, there's scarcely a corner of the Marvel Universe that hasn't felt his wrath.

He's Marvel's main antagonist, and in fending off so many heroes (and often villains as well), Doom's atrocities are among the publisher's worst. He's dominated cosmic heralds, tortured mystical sorcerers and turned friends against each other; nothing is beyond the pale for Reed Richards' former roommate.

But what are the character's most abject acts? With over fifty years worth of them to speak of, chronicling the doctor's gravest schemes is an arduous task, and while he's seemingly turned a new leaf in recent years, there's no getting away from what made fans love him so much in the first place: pure, unadulterated evil.
