7. Loki: Agent Of Asgard #17 – Loki’s Final Confrontation With Old Loki

I knew Loki: AoA was ending with #17, and I knew it was going to end with this – Loki defeating the series’ villain, Old Loki, not with a fight, but with forgiveness.

Old Loki represented what happened when Loki became embittered and alone – in his future, no Asgardian would see past his status as God of Lies, so he went bad and attempted to corrupt his own past. Which prompted our Loki to, essentially, stop caring what other people thought of him, and forgive himself.

This scene means an awful lot to an awful lot of people – I saw it tattooed on someone’s leg recently – and I did shed a tear when I wrote it.
