G.C.P.D's finest, James Gordon is a valuable ally in Batman's ongoing war on crime, though it hasn't always been that way.

Initially resentful of The Dark Knight's vigilantism, it would take a while for both parties to warm to the other but eventually sense would prevail and they would form a strong working bond as well as a friendship of sorts.

Through all the tragedy that has littered the police commissioner's life, there has always been two things he could rely on: Batman, and his job.

It hasn't always been smooth sailing, but it's doubtful he'd have it any other way.
