Convergence #6 Review: 5 Reasons Why It's A Mediocre Step In The Right Direction

By Bryant Lucas /

1. Final Verdict

While Convergence #6 is by no means a perfect issue, it does many things right, especially in light of its previous issues. The narrative finally has a clear direction as we transition into the climax of this menial event. Although the plot is somewhat generic, the strong pacing of Convergence #6 almost made me forget about its unoriginal elements. This issue made me look forward to the giant slugfest in the next issue: a task none of the previous issues were able to accomplish. With solid art and excellent panelling that compliment this fast-paced narrative, Convergence #6 achieves a fluidity that has yet to be accomplished in previous issues. It was by far the best issue in this series. Unfortunately, the issue is still simply mediocre in its execution. Nothing in it stands out as an amazing technical achievement, and the plot does not redeem this slow-paced, quasi-irrelevant series that will undoubtedly have little impact on events to come in the DCU. I would wager that in two year€™s time, no one will be referencing Convergence, and no one will remember this issue. Score Story: 5/10 Art: 6/10 Overall: 5.5/10
