Honestly, we don't know if we're coming or going this week. First the existence of a Shazam film gets confirmed by Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson (as his agent probably insists on him being called) himself - who will actually be playing the titular hero's nemesis, Black Adam - and then we start hearing word that another of DC's umpteen upcoming superhero films has been confirmed. They're certainly not playing around when it comes to keeping up with Marvel's Cinematic Universe, and from the sounds of things they've been paying close attention to their rival's most recent box office smash the next Warner Bros comic book adaptation is, if you believe what you hear on the grapevine, going to be Legion Of Super-Heroes. A series that's got as long a history as many of the other characters mooted to be getting a DC movie at some point, the Legion have never had a chance to lodge themselves in the popular consciousness in the same way as, say, a Flash or a Green Lantern (although many would much rather forget the latter after the last time he appeared on their screens). What they lack in popularity they make up for in high-flying space escapades and an ensemble cast of weird and wonderful characters. Hm, this is all starting to sound rather familiar... Yep, everyone and their mum's been comparing the mooted Legion Of Super-Heroes film to this summer's Guardians Of The Galaxy, and that's...not entirely unreasonable. There's a whole lot of differences between the two, however, and separating the wheat from the other wheat published by a different company is just one of the many tasks at hand as we explain to you the five things you absolutely need to know about the Legion Of Super-Heroes. You know, if you care about that sort of thing.
