10. Marvel 1602

If you're a fan of writer Neil Gaiman (which, if you're sensible, should be a resounding yes), then Marvel 1602 should be on your shortlist for books that you need to read immediately.

This story is nothing less than an amazing writer getting to play with the entire Marvel universe with almost no restrictions, and it is glorious.

What does this have to do with the Spider-Verse? In the first 1602 novel, we're introduced to Peter Parquah, a man with the strange habit of almost being bitten by increasingly odd spiders.

In the sequel he gets bitten almost immediately. Proceeding to become The Spider, a vigilante with an awesome costume, and goes on swashbuckling adventures. Like we said, the 1602 universe is all kinds of awesome.
