Spider-Man: 10 Things Nobody Wants To Admit About Spider-Verse
10. Weak Stories For Some Spiders That Deserved Better
Since the conflict brought all manner of spider-powered folk into the pages of the Spider-Verse, it was always likely that a few wonderful heroes or heroines wouldn't get as much of the limelight as they truly deserved.
Obviously this would be acceptable for some, but unfortunately some major characters were never really given a chance to shine in the story. Miles Morales, for example, was introduced fairly early before being pushed into relative obscurity in the supporting books. For the most part he was forced to accompany Disney XD's Ultimate Spider-Man hero and, while this did lead to some great moments in the TV series, it would have been nice to see Miles feature more heavily in the major developments.
Towards the end of the conflict Miles actually makes a comment to Peter about it being a shame they couldn't have spent more time together, and he's so right. It would've been great to see more of Miles' reactions to Peter's ability to command and make tough decisions, forcing Miles to ask more questions of his own heroic career as he matures into the role.
