5. A Skrull Imposter

First Appearance As Spider-Man: Secret Invasion #1

The next person to take on the Spider-Man identity after Reilly was a Skrull imposter during Secret Invasion. Unlike other characters, this Skrull infiltrator only made a single appearance during the event, and was killed off when the Avengers landed in the Savage Land to investigate the extent of the Skrulls' deception, with a ship having crashed nearby.

Opening up the door, the Avengers discover carbon copies of themselves inside. A fight soon breaks out, and poor old Skrull Peter Parker gets flattened by a nearby Tyrannosaurus Rex.

This Skrull 'became' Spider-Man for the grand total of two issues, but as with most of the shapeshifters from Secret Invasion, he didn't live to tell the tale.
