Beth Gibbons is a phenomenal singer and I can only wonder why she has never sung a Bond Song. I mean, listen to her voice! She sums up what it means to be a sultry, haunting, beautiful singer, all the facets you look for in a great female Bond vocalist. Posrtishead always produce great Bondy sounding songs. What I love about this song is the guitar that accompanies the orchestra, those twangs are reminiscent of the classic Bond theme, so much that the songs ends sounding exactly like a Bond song. The lyrics are amazing too. Covered by the blind belief. That fantasies of sinful screens. Bear the facts, assume the dye. End the vows no need to lie, enjoy. Take a ride, take a shot now. Cos nobody loves me. Its true. Not like you do. Sour Times was made to be a Bond song.
