001: Muse €“ Supremacy

I don€™t know if anyone connected to the Bond films reads WhatCulture. Maybe someone is reading this who is connected to someone who knows someone who works on the Bond films. All I have is one request. Please let Muse sing the next Bond song! Muse has produced several songs that had elements of €˜Bond-ness€™ in them. I€™ve been saying they should produce a Bond Song for years. And then Supremacy from their latest album The 2nd Law came out and suddenly I found myself listening to one of the best Bond songs ever made. Except it wasn€™t a Bond song. Don€™t get me wrong, I though Adele€™s Skyfall was a brilliant song. A great vocal that absolutely worked with the tone of the film. I also think Supremacy wouldn€™t have worked for the film either. For the action of Quantum of Solace, it would have been spot on. In fact, play Supremacy over the Quantum of Solace title sequence and it works. Don€™t believe me? Someone already did it. Check this out. It€™s not just the Bond homage in the opening and closing moments of the song. An epic vocal from Matt Bellamy. The quieter moments before it launches into a thundering guitar riff. It€™s a song made for a Bond title sequence. Muse HAS to do a Bond Song. The trouble is, how are they going to top Supremacy? What are your thoughts? Are these the artists your choice for the next Bond song? Or do you have someone else in mind? Let me know!
