And while Stranger Things has us reconnecting with our youth and our love for cinema of a by-gone era, bringing The Goonies back for modern audiences presents the idea of looking inwards at ourselves and our own need for nostalgia. Taking lessons from the structure of Stranger Things could prove successful for a property like The Goonies as it allows for the main group to be re-introduced properly and for their adventure to be far bigger and more complex whilst allowing time for sub-plots and character development.
