3. Denzel Washington As Macbeth - The Tragedy Of Macbeth

Denzel Washington is without question one of our greatest living actors and has proven himself capable of tackling a diverse multitude of roles, but at the same time, few would've ever expected to see him cast as Lord Macbeth in a movie adaptation.

Though Washington is certainly no stranger to tackling Shakespeare on both the stage and screen in the past, the role of the statuesque Scottish Lord will present a particularly unique challenge to the actor, given how many Hollywood A-listers have fallen flat while trying to perfect the accent (looking at you, Mel Gibson).

Yet at the same time, Washington will be working with writer-director Joel Coen, and given the Coens' near-impeccable track record - not to mention Denzel's own - there's virtually no reason to doubt this will be anything less than magnetic.
