In pretty much every Simon Pegg performance there's a massive dollop of real-life Simon Pegg. A former stand-up comedian, the actor is a self-confessed lover of video games, comic books, movies and all things of a geeky nature. From his work way back on Asylum, to his long-standing association with Edgar Wright, to his turns in some massive Hollywood movies, Pegg often delivers a natural, flawed 'everyman' charm in his performances. Even if he's appearing in something that's not necessarily comedic, he still brings a mild sense of comedy relief to a picture, such as in J.J. Abrams' Star Trek films or the Mission: Impossible series. Exception To The Rule: In this year's Kill Me Three Times, Pegg is taking on the role of an out-and-out assassin in Kriv Stenders' vengeance-heavy thriller. Early reports suggest that Pegg will be dropping the quirky, funny everyman act in favour of a straight-up remorseless marksman. Consider me intrigued.
