10. Christian Bale - The Bride

Few actors have relished transforming themselves beyond any and all recognition quite like Christian Bale, and though the actor is noted for dramatic weight loss and gain for roles, for his upcoming part as Frankenstein's monster in Maggie Gyllenhaal's The Bride, it'll be prosthetics doing most of the heavy lifting.

The first sneak peek image from the film shows Bale adorned with considerable facial prosthesis, including a crude stitch navigating the entirety of his forehead, as well as a large tattoo across his chest which appears to read, "hope."

Unsurprisingly, the image was instantly compared to Jared Leto's bold take on The Joker in 2016's Suicide Squad - it's certainly not a subtle design in the slightest, but given the heightened nature of the source material Gyllenhaal is working with, that's certainly not an inherent issue.

Above all else, we know that Christian Bale is going to give 110% to this performance, fearlessly throwing himself headlong into it as he always does.
