The Case For: LaBeouf has been in some blockbuster movies. The Transformers franchise, Oliver Stone€™s Wall Street sequel, and Kingdom Of The Crystal Skull. More recently he has been getting into some more solid material, playing a prohibition-era moonshiner in Lawless and an ambitious young journalist in The Company You Keep. There was also his notable appearance in the video clip for Sigur Rós€™ 'Fjögur píanó', sans clothes. The Case Against: LaBeouf hasn€™t yet shown he can carry a film on his own back, at various times hiding behind giant shape-changing robots and Indiana Jones. His characters tend to have an air of insecurity about them, which will not cut the Gosling mustard. Also, in the interests of full disclosure, I still think of him as the clueless, slightly annoying, borderline pudgy kid in Constantine and I Robot.
