10. Sylvester Stallone Had Metal Inserted Into His Back After Getting Injured - The Expendables 3

There was definitely some fun to be had in the first outing for Sylvester Stallone's gang of all-star action heroes back in 2010. And the first Expendables sequel actually managed to bring in more money and stronger reviews than that initial showing of testosterone, too.

The Expendables 3, for a whole host of reasons, just didn't quite match the levels of glorious violence and charm of those first two entries, however, with the disappointing threequel also taking home the lowest box office haul of the bunch and a pitiful 31% on Rotten Tomatoes.

But it wasn't through a lack of commitment.

In fact, clearly feeling that the end product was worth risking it all for, leading man Sly actually broke his back in more ways than one trying to bring his Barney Ross back to screens for the third time.

According to the Rambo and Rocky star himself, a bad fall onto his back during Expendables 3's shoot ultimately resulted in him having "some metal put in there".

With the fourth entry in the franchise now finally wrapped and heading into theatres this September, here's hoping the ageing icons and newcomers were able to get through the typically gruelling experience in one piece this time around.
