10 Actors Who Refused To Be On Set Together

10. Sylvester Stallone And Richard Gere - The Lords Of The Flatbush

Sometime before both stars were the household names we know today, Sylvester Stallone and Richard Gere were both cast in a coming-of-age drama known as The Lords of the Flatbush (1974).

Stallone would be playing Stanley Rosiello and Gere had landed the lead role of David 'Chico' Tyrell.

Yet, as those who have seen the flick will already know, Gere did not end up appearing in the finished feature when it hit screens.

This was down to the fact that the two future superstars didn't exactly get along during the early stages of production and one incident in particular forced the film's director to 'make a choice', as Stallone put it.

After Gere entered a car post-rehearsal with a greasy half-a-chicken and plonked himself next to the soon-to-be 'Italian Stallion', Stallone warned him not to get any grease on his pants. Gere apparently told him not to worry about, but still ended up splashing mustard on his co-star's thigh. This led to Stallone elbowing him in the head and booting him out of the vehicle.

Before long Gere was given his marching orders and Perry King was brought in to take over his role.

Over 40 years later, the Hollywood legends have yet to bury the hatchet... or chicken...
