10 Actors Who Refused To Change Their Bodies For Movie Roles
2. Harrison Ford Won't Cut His Hair - American Graffiti
After seemingly making a career out of marching to the beat of his own drum and pretty much doing whatever he pleased with a twinkle in his eye, it shouldn't come as that much of a surprise to hear that the future Han Solo started as he meant to go on.
Despite not being a well-known star at the time and the film being one of the actor's first major appearances on a cinema screen, that still didn't stop Harrison Ford from giving George Lucas a hard no when asked to have his hair cut into a flat top style for his role in 1973's American Graffiti.
Lucas still very much wanted Ford to be part of the coming-of-age film, so a compromise was made; Ford wouldn't have to conform to the hairstyle of the time for the flick, but he would be forced to wear a Stetson cowboy hat throughout.
As the star would later go on to prove time and time again in another epic series of adventure flicks under the tutelage of Steven Spielberg, plonking a cool hat on this charming noggin is never a bad idea.
