10 Announced Movie Sequels Happening WAY Too Late
10. Dodgeball 2
The golden rule of comedy sequels is to strike while the iron is hot, which this recently confirmed follow-up to 2004's classic sports comedy Dodgeball is categorically not doing.
Though whispers of Dodgeball 2 started doing the rounds over a decade ago, it was only last year that 20th Century Studios confirmed the sequel was back on the docket, with Vince Vaughn set to return in the role of protagonist Peter LaFleur.
Yet as widely loved as Dodgeball is, is anyone really asking for a sequel, especially one coming more than 20 years after the fact?
The first film felt like it said everything that needed to be said, and what would a sequel even be other than a blatant rehash of the original?
Plus, it doesn't seem like Ben Stiller is set to return as villain White Goodman, which immediately makes Dodgeball 2 seem a lot less appealing.
If the sequel was going to happen, it should've been made within a few short years of the original, and so given the dire track record of most belated comedy sequels, it's difficult to have any optimism for this whatsoever.
