The Pitch: Daniel Radcliffe looks to stretch himself as his post-Potter career takes off, teaming with director Alexandre Aja to play a young man who uses his new-found demonic powers to investigate the murder of his girlfriend (Juno Temple). Why It's Awesome: This is Daniel Radcliffe like you've never seen him before: his American accent is surprisingly faultless and he's foul-mouthed but largely likeable as the put-on protagonist. Though it's unarguably overlong and the surprises later on aren't really that surprising, the hilarious script should delight those with a penchant for dark gallows humour, and as a modern murder mystery, on the whole it's thoroughly engrossing. Hopefully this will result in Radcliffe earning more left-field work in the future, because he absolutely knocks it out of the park.
