Sarah Polley successfully transitioned from an acting career to directing with her superb dramas Away from Her and Take This Waltz, not to mention her mesmerising documentary Stories We Tell.

Her exceptional dramatic instincts make her an unconventional, ballsy choice for the superhero genre, which is a million miles away from her work to date, but if she can find a strong female superhero pic that takes her fancy, she'd probably knock it effortlessly out of the park.

How Likely Is It?: Polley hasn't actually directed a film in five years, so it remains to be seen whether she'd even accept an offer for something like this, let alone put herself forward for it in the first place. It'd be Hollywood's loss, though. 3/10
