10 Awesome Recent Horror Movie Kills You Probably Missed
2. Trevor - Y2K
Kyle Mooney's totally bonkers directorial debut Y2K struck out when it released late last year, flopping at the box office while receiving mixed-to-negative notices from critics. That said, the apocalyptic horror-comedy, centered around technology murderously rising up against humanity at the turn of the millennium, at least delivers a number of imaginatively unhinged kills.
But Mooney arguably gets the best kill out of the way at the beginning, when high schooler Trevor (Jacob Moskovitz) is approached by a remote-controlled toy car with some robotic attachments.
One of the robotic arms holds up a can of hairspray, and when Trevor calls the machine a "dumbass" because he uses hair gel (obviously), the robot pulls out a lighter, flicks the flame, and fires the spray directly at Trevor's face.
The result is Trevor's face being barbecued beyond recognition by a fireball in a matter of seconds, quickly forcing the assembled partygoers to reconcile that all the Y2K scaremongering is, in fact, totally legit.
