10 Awful 2015 Movies That Deserved To Bomb At The Box Office

6. Mortdecai

Budget: $60 million Box Office: $47.3 million (78.8%) Johnny Depp plummeted even further in the estimation of many of his fans (before providing some much-needed hope with his superb work in Black Mass later in the year) as he again exemplified that mere mugging alone cannot sustain a film. Despite being adapted from a beloved series of novels and co-starring the likes of Ewan McGregor, Jeff Goldblum and Gwyneth Paltrow, Mortdecai is a depressingly unfunny, uninteresting and almost unwatchable "comedy" caper. It is the pinnacle of Depp's cynicism as an actor, the ultimate "take the money and run" performance in a movie that never even begins to justify its bloated budget. Thankfully, audiences weren't drawn in by Depp's name alone, and the pic dutifully landed with a thud, destined for a future as that movie people watch half of on Netflix when they've seen everything else.
