10 Awful Films Game Of Thrones Actors Want Us To Forget
10. Charles Dance - Alien 3
We start with a film that precedes his time in Game of Thrones, with the wonderful Charles Dance in the dreadful Alien 3. Going back and watching this movie is difficult enough, but it is made even stranger by witnessing Dance in an earlier stage of his life just beginning to carve a name for himself.
The issues surrounding this entry in the Xenomorph series mostly come down to the fact that it is unbelievably boring. Alien brought us an incredibly tense space encounter with a vicious, deadly hunter, and Aliens delivered on the same premise but converted it into an action-packed overrun adrenaline fest. Alien 3 attempts to meld the two but fails utterly.
It is a dull Sci-Fi outing that begins the descent of this franchise and Dance matches this energy in his relatively weak portrayal. Often playing stoic and strong characters, here he acts as a Doctor who works at the space prison the film is set in and brings a very dull and uncharismatic performance to the table.
Dance has stated that he believes studio interference was what doomed this movie to mediocrity. Thankfully unlike other entries on this list, he has escaped the pull of his worst outings. Yet still, it's probably a moment on his resume he'd rather be forgotten.
